    3. I bet I'm probably related to Father William Hinds way back in history some where. The spelling of our family name changed from HINDS to HINES just before the 1900s. I don't suppose he has some interest in genealogy.(?) Sue, There are three Catholic Churches in Mason County : St. Patrick in Maysville ( the pastor is Father William Hinds, and Father James Louis McHugh is the retired priest in residence), St Rose of Lima in May's Lick (which shares a pastor, Father Verne Hogan, with St Charles Borromeo Church in Flemingsburg), and St James in Minerva (which shares a pastoral administrator, Deacon Hillenmeyer, with St James Church in Brooksville, and is served by a priest, Father Dan Saner, responsible for the Minerva and Brooksville Churches, as well as St Augustine Church in Augusta, KY). The Flemingsburg Church is in neighboring Fleming County, and the Augusta and Brooksville Churches are in neighboring Bracken County. I should also note that Father McHugh (see above) is the former pastor of both the May's Lick and Flemingsburg Churches, and the Minerva and Brooksville Churches. St Patrick happens to be his native parish, although he never pastored there. I hope this is helpful to you. Sincerely yours, Ben Hawkins
