The common abbreviation for Charles is Chas, very close to Shas. I never thought of that. So here's the bit for Shas. (who could be Chas.) Maysville, KY Cemetery (new part) ENNIS, Shas. E. 3-23-1921 ENNIS, Lottie K. 6-2-1921 Use the KY Vital Statics index to find their death certs. Actually, if I have an unusual surname I'm looking for, I'll "shotgun" the death certs and get every one that I can in a county. I usually find out that most of them are related and I can piece the family together faster. At $1 each, especially if there's only a half dozen or so, I can afford to do that.
