    3. I know of two Sardis Cemeteries. One is in Sardis, Mason County, KY. The other is in Rowan Co., part of which was originally a part of Mason Co, and, later, Fleming Co, KY. However, the one in Mason Co may be your best bet. There are, or have been, Fites in Robertson Co, which is adjacent to Sardis. Also, Earlywine and Cotterill are fairly well-known Mason and Fleming Co names. Fleming Co was a part of Mason Co originally, and the Cotterills were from the Elizaville/Ewing area which is near the current Mason Co line. I recently lived and worked in Scioto Co, OH, about 40-50 miles east of Mason Co, and in Scioto Co, the surname is commonly spelled "Fight". --- "gc-gateway@rootsweb.com" <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to > this mailing list. > > Author: DEBORRA58 > Surnames: Fite, Cotteril, Earlywine > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.mason/4443.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I am looking for the surname Fite.
