Yup, the only Ennises that I ever knew of in Mason Co emigrated from Ireland in the mid to late 19th century, were (and presumably are) Catholics, and were buried in St Patrick's Cemetery in the Olde Washington section of Maysville. Since the Ennis you're researching was in Mason Co in the 18th century, he was probably Protestant (not many Catholics in Mason Co in that early era), and may have been of either Ulster Irish or Scots origin, and used their more common spelling, "Innes". It's worth a try, isn't it? --- "gc-gateway@rootsweb.com" <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to > this mailing list. > > Author: mschomaker1 > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.mason/82.1135.1946.1948.1971.2.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I'm sorry.
