Thanks for your comments, Doug. Obviously someone looking for information in a given geographic area isn't going to pay for data from 2,000 miles away from that area. But if you know the general area your ancestors came from, and live 2,000 miles away from local research facilities, I would have thought using my database would be very cost-effective. I can't do much about the common name problem, but I do give the number of mentions of all principal surnames in the database (free). For example, as you may have seen, there are 28 Gordons in Mason the marriage records. BTW, I haven't raised my prices in 3 years.
