    3. I'd have to say that the charges to use your resources are a bit steep, especially if one is going in "blind" so to speak. This is the same problem as with places like Ancestry.com or buying books and CD-ROMs that offer "thousands of names" or whatever. I would subscribe to it or buy it if I knew for sure that there was something about my ancestors in there, but there's no way for me to know unless I pay up front. And in most cases, just knowing a particular "name" that is included is not helpful if you have a fairly common surname (such as mine, for example). I have been burned by this before -- tantalized by what appeared to be in a source, and then disappointed after putting out my money when there was no new information there. Of course, if you are able to look before you buy, what you see might be all that you need to know, and then why pay for it? I'm not sure what the solution is, but if one is willing to do the legwork and some traveling, there's a lot to be said for on-site research at historical museums and libraries in the places of interest (such as the *excellent* resources at The Museum Center in Maysville!).
