The church was and is called St.Patrick's, it is still there. Sacramental records were filmed years ago and are available through your local Family History Library (LDS church). If you go to your local FHL, they can order the films from their main Salt Lake City Library for a minimal fee (about $2). The cemetery for this parish was also called St. Patricks, or locally just called the Catholic cemetery. It was/is located in Washington, very close to Maysville. In addition to the microfilms mentioned above, the Mason County Museum has burial records for local cemeteries, including St. Patrick's. I am not close by but the Museum will do your research for a fee and send copies. I don't recall their research fee but I didn't think it was too much, I was very pleased with the work they did for me. They also have old newspapers and some courthouse records. Additionally, some courthouse records are available through the books of Frances Ingmire, I think they are called "Mason County Records" or something like that. Again, your FHL is probably the best place to find those. ----- Original Message ---- From: Sue Martinson <suem600@yahoo.com> To: KYMASON-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, May 6, 2006 4:08:52 AM Subject: [KYMASON-L] Catholic church Hello Everyone Can anyone tell me the name of the Catholic church that served Mayville in 1853 ? What she said. ;o) I think the cost for the FHL film rentals has gone up recently. If I remember right, it's $5.75 per film now. I would echo Elizabeth's experience with the helpfulness of the Mason Co. Museum staff.
