Hello, I have never participated in the KYMASON-L site but I am writing to say that I have McDowells. Was his father Col. Samuel McDowell and his mother Martha McClung? I have Col. McDowell dying in Danville, KY in 1817 and Martha was from Ireland and died in Shawnee Springs, Mercer Co. KY. in 1827 Do write if these people are related. I have them going WAY back.
