    3. I am not sure if this is even a close idea for your Catherene Davis but I have a John Davis and Katy Davis mentioned in Evans and Stivers History of Adams County. I know their father was Thomas Davis who was living in Mason County, Ky as I have John born their about 1790-1793. REMINISCENCES:Rescue of John and Katy Davis from the Indians. "Just above old Marble Furnace was once the site of an Indian village, and here after the whites had settled in this vicinity and along Ohio Brush Creek, Indian families would come and camp to hunt and fish. While Thomas Davis, who resided on Brush Creek just above the Fristoe bridge, was away from home, an Indian squaw stole John and Katy Davis, two of his small children, and carried them to the camp on East Fork. The mother of the children gave the alarm, the squaw was followed to the camp, and the children were rescued." I have nothing on Katy and all of John descendants.Katy could be your Catherene as where Thomas settled in Adams COunty was very close to Mason County, Ky. In Adams County are many Evans but I have none of your names in my database. My Evans tie ty to the Platter part of mmy family. I do have extensive info on Platter also. I know Thomas Davis is buried in Locust Grove Cemetary but stone is unreadable except for Thomas Davis. I have lots of Davis buried in same cemetary. Some of my Platter and Davis later moved to Johnson County, Mo. I have looked for a long time to find father of Thomas or any info on Katy with no luck. I find a Thomas Davis who married Mary Collins in Mason County, Ky in 1795 but nothing on Mary Collins after that. I know John ( Thomas son) named his first daughter Mary. OK enough just thought would throw this out to see if could learn anything new and see if Brenda or Jerry anyone else who can give any ideas. Sorry for the length. Thanks Ray Jennings
