    3. I was only guessing to you that it may have been part of Ohio Territory at that time. I should have taken the time to look it up before 'guessing wrong '. Sorry. First Census of KY 1790 published by Stevenson's Genealogical Center of Provo, Utah, originally published in 1940 and compiled by Charles B. Heinemann. This book has a large fold up map of Counties of KY in 1792 in respect to modern counties. References; Acts of Virginia Assembly, Kentucky Topography maps, and Kentucky Land Grants. Looking at map from right to left. entire right end of map is called Mason Co adjoining Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia. The county is laid out on the diagonal. Directly below Mason Co is Bourbon County from bottom ALMOST to top of county. At top of map adjoining top end of Mason and Bourbon Counties is Woodford Co. Directly below Woodford co is small Fayette Co and below Fayette Co is Madison Co going south on this map ALMOST to bottom of map Completely across BOTTOM of this map is Lincoln Co Adjoining Woodford Co on west side in Jefferson Co and squeezed in under Fayette and Jefferson on south end in Mercer County. Adjoining Bourbon Co from Fayette Co at top and Lincoln Co on west side is Madison Co Across middle top of Nelson County above Lincoln Co. *** There is a section called Jackson Purchase acquired in 1818 on Western end of KY. below Illinois and above TN. The Mississippi River seems to run along western end of the section called Jackson Purchase. ** If you find this difficult to follow, maybe jotting down as above typed will put the state in better prospective for 1792. There is a note on this map page stating; The PRESENT boundary between Washington and Mercer- and Marion and Boyle should lie on division line shown here referring to the section called Jackson Purchase above mentioned. ***************************************************** White surnames listed in this census of 1790; Andrew Lincoln 3/30/1790 Catherine Fayette 2/26/1790 Charles Madison 1789 Daniel Lincoln 3/25/1790 Elizabeth Jefferson 9/2/1789 George Lincoln 6/18/1790; Madison 1789 James listed 6 times Fayette 5/9/1789; Fayette 7/8/1789;Fayette 2/26/1790; Madison 1789; Nelson 11/8/1792; Woodford 5/22/1790; Jeremiah Fayette 1/11/1790 Joel listed 3 times Fayette 5/16/1789; Fayette 11/1789; Woodford 3/19/1790 John listed 4 times Fayette 1/11/1790; 1/11/1790; Lincoln 8/3/1790; Madison 1789; John Jr Madison 1789 John Sr. Fayette 1/11/1790 Stephen Bourbon 3/1791 Thomas Fayette 1/11/1790 William Fayette 5/9/1789 *** I wonder if those duplicate names above are mostly same men owning more tracts of land.
