The late Dr. George Osborne's family have belonged to First Christian Church in Maysville for years. They are the only family of Osbornes of which I am aware to belong to the First Christian Church in Maysville in the latter half of the 20th Century. Dr. Osborne was not originally from Maysville, having been from Stamping Ground, Scott County, Kentucky. His widow, Louise, and their daughter, Dr. Rita Osborne-Goldman, and her family, are still members of the congregation. Of the other Osbornes in Mason County, some are Methodists, and are from Lewis County, i.e. Shelby G. Osborne and family. In fact, most of the Osbornes in Mason County whom I have known, as well as those in Scioto County, OH, where I live now, are originally from Lewis County, KY. However, the late Geneva (nee Osborne) Huber's Osborne forebears were Irish Catholics who came to Mason County in the mid-19th Century.
