Maybe the person recording marriages in Mason CO is the one who had trouble spelling....he could also be the source of my wrong info about which brother married Sarah A. Collins. In the time period we are talking about, many people spelled phonetically & didn't have a lot of occasions to write/document their name. Not like today, where we have ID for everything. My direct relative is Hiram McGraw, b abt 1805 Mason CO KY. He married Sarah A. Collins b abt 1817 KY. Married 8 June 1839, Mason CO KY. They had 3 kids: Susan Jane McGraw b abt 1839 KY m George W. Columbia b abt 1835 KY Anthony Wayne McGraw b 14 Dec 1843 Sardis, Mason CO, KY (per his Civil War Records) m Lydia McKinney b 7 Jan 1861 Brown CO, OH Married 18 Dec 1877 Aberdeen, Brown CO, OH Sarah B. McGraw b abt 1845 KY unknown if married, etc. Anthony Wayne McGraw & Lydia McKinney are my direct ancestors.
