She died 5/02/1905 in Randolph Twp, Ohio Cnty. IN. Her mother's maiden name was Mary Applegate and her father was Jesse Cooper. Both were allegedly born in VA. Family lore had Mary Applegate Cooper giving birth to Malinda on the way to KY from VA. Malinda married an older man, John Jenkins. They are buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Ohio Cnty, IN. In my late aunt's notes, she was pursuing a William Applegate in the DAR Index of Roles of Honor as Jesse Applegate's father. She noted that he was in Volume #26 page 193. There are Applegates buried in an old cemetery on Old Boston Road, Batavia, Clermont Cnty. OH which is not far from Mason County, KY.
