As far as I know, the Russell family of Maysville (Mayor M. C. Russell, J. August Thomas is buried in Newport, KY. Don't know if this is any relation. I think he was born in Maysville, I know he lived there at one time. He married Evelyn Brown.

I've been researching some of the Brownings that married into the family you are discussing. But I'm sorry to say that I don't know where Benjamin Thomas is buried either. You might try writing to the Mason County Museum. On one trip there I saw a huge book containing computer print outs of cemetery listings. Hopefully they'd have Benjamin Thomas listed in there. If you have any info on John William Hiefield/Highfield and Jane Browning or their son, Robert Lewis Highfield, after the 1860 or 1870 census please let me know. Robert might be the one in Sullivan co., IN in the 1900 census and later, but I haven't been able to prove he's the same one yet.

Plummer was, and is, a prominent surname in Lewis County, KY. Remember that Lewis County was a part of Mason County until 1803-04, or somewhere along in there. Also, you will find that a sizeable proportion of the population of Adams County, Ohio, emigrated there from Lewis County(they're across the River from one another). I'm not familiar with the Pixley family, but chances are they were not from Lewis County, since, to the best of my knowledge, no one from Lewis County served in the Confederate Army in the Civil War. Both Lewis County and Adams Counties were strongly pro-Union and abolitionist in their sympathies, and John Hunt Morgan's memory is still reviled in this area even today.
