We have David White in east Texas around1860, married a Rushing who's family arrived in Texas about 1850. We really know nothing. In case you ever come across this family we would be glad to hear any information. Thank you, Denna Fo Fyffe
That is true you cant establish link but it would help if family resemblence strong enough you would know to push for link via someone :>) Blessings S
Thanks for the suggestion. However, I can't establish a link between the existing pictures and my Charles WATKINS (1802-1842). I suspect that the pictures are from a later WATKINS family. -----Original Message----- From: SusiCP@aol.com [mailto:SusiCP@aol.com] Sent: Saturday, December 31, 2005 12:06 PM To: KYMASON-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KYMASON-L] LITTLEJOHN or WATKINS 1821 OK you have clues you may not realize you need to see if the pictures of WATKINS resemble any one in family. I had a researcher at the Mason Co museum do a bit of digging. She couldn't find any clear link between my ancestor Charles and the WATKINS family that you're describing. Thanks for the help, though. -----Original Message----- From: ben hawkins [mailto:captnemo1958@yahoo.com] Sent: Monday, October 10, 2005 4:47 PM To: KYMASON-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KYMASON-L] LITTLEJOHN or WATKINS 1821 The Watkins family was very prominent and well-to-do in Maysville, owning significant and well-located commercial properties downtown. To the best of my knowledge, the last surviving member of the family was Amelia Watkins Lane, who died over 20 years ago. Although she had some distant cousins in New York, being childless, as was her late brother, William C. Watkins, she left the bulk of her estate to the local Knights of Columbus, St. Patrick's School, and the Diocese of Covington. There are, or were, some family pictures of the Watkins family hanging upstairs at Knights of Columbus Council #1377 in Maysville (the Watkins family home), as well as some pictures of William Watkins in storage at Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1564, also in Maysville. He was a longtime officer there, and I think Bill and Amelia's father was a charter member when the Aerie was formed in 1907, in which case his name is on the charter, which I think hangs in the Aerie meeting room. I hope t! his is helpful. "R.W. Shore" <bob@chimneystones.us> wrote:I have a link to Mason Co through the marriage of WATKINS Charles and LITTLEJOHN Jane on 30-Oct-1821. Dear friends, Here is a message I received from my internet provider. As of February 24th 2006 the fcbl.net domain will expire. Previously, the FCBL domain was an alias for our Troycable domain so any mail sent to FCBL was also directed to Troycable. This will no longer happen as of February the 24th. This being the case, my new email address will be mnorsworthy@troycable.net. Please change it in your adds book. \ I hope your Christmas was merry and your new year healthy and prosperous. Four of his children...Sarah, William, Susan, and Levi were married in Mason County, Kentucky between 1793 and 1799. Another daughter Elizabeth was married in Bracken County in 1798. I'm trying to find out anything I can about this family including a marriage record for David's son Solomon to a woman named Barbara or Barbary. I'm wondering, too, if there were other children. Thanks.
