    3. You can be a huge help Jerry Johnson. Spread the word. Mention the Giles Co Heritage book on line when ever you get the chance. Tell your neighbors and all others the price will go up for orders turned in after it is sent to press which is so TRUE. This will be a wonderful, large book and a treasure to our future families. I remember not long ago when there were many who wished the Giles Co Historical Society would republish the Lineage Book. Now they have an opportunity for an even greater boon, The Giles County TN Heritage Book. Spread the word that it is time to place an order for a copy to aid their family research and a pleasure to own. 3. Am not sure about Porter and Cummings, but later there was Porter Funeral Home, also known as Porter and Clay. It was located on the 1300 block of East Second St. Ashby Porter, the owner, has long since passed away (about 30 years ago?) and his partner, Allan Clay, my Mom's second cousin, removed to Lexington (not sure if he's still living or not). The Funeral Home hasn't been in business for years, and I don't know if their records still exist or where they would be kept if they do. The property is now owned by Emerson Power Transmission and is used for parking, storage, etc. jedge05@earthlink.net wrote: This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Their only child, Charles McPherson Short. On Charles death certificate it mentions his parents names.. The closest that I can figure out that William probably got married in the late 60's but no later then 1872, because that's when Charles McPherson Short was born. I have not been able to place William Boyd Short on the 1870 census. So I want to think that he was married after 1870 but no later then 1872. Remember Charles was born in 1872. 3. Yes, Maysville is right on the Ohio River -- it is across the river from Brown County, Ohio -- so there was a lot of "visiting" and "moving" back and forth. For example, a marriage bond was required in KY, so many couples who actually lived in KY were married in Aberdeen, OH, where no marriage bond was required.. From Maysville, there was a road to Lexington, Fayette Co, KY. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sue Martinson" <suem600@yahoo.com> To: <KYMASON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, March 17, 2006 6:35 PM Subject: [KYMASON-L] Flaherty > Hello Everyone > > I am just starting my research in Mason Cty.
