    3. There are Flaughers across the river in Bracken Co, KY, too. In Brown Co., OH, the name is generally pronounced "Flocker", in Bracken Co., KY it's pronounced "Flaw her". Interesting. A prominent Catholic family in Maysville, who owned lots of downtown commercial property; a Protestant family from Ewing, Fleming Co, KY, many of whom are still around. One of their descendants owns a B-n-B in Flemingsburg; and the Protestant family from Sardis, now deceased, whose family included Dr. Herman Lee Donovan, who was president of the University of Kentucky, and for whom the Donovan Scholarship was named. 3. You would probably find most Giffords buried in the Shannon, Bethel, and Happy Ridge Methodist Church Yards in Mason County and various cemeteries in Robertson County than in the Maysville Cemetery. Most of them were from the Sardis/Mt Olivet area, not Maysville. Of course later Giffords were buried in Maysville & May's Lick Cemeteries, as well as in Ripley, Georgetown, And Manchester Cemeteries across the river in Ohio. You may also look in Poe Family Graveyards in Robertson and Mason Counties since the Giffords were related to them.
