If anyone can assist, I'd really appreciate it! I am tracing the famliy of William Robert Tucker (b. 9/1/1930, d. 10/16/2006). He is the son of William Tucker (b. 1901) and Mabel Clara Pugh (b. 4/20/1901, d. 12/2/2001). The problem I have run into is that for William Sr. (married to Mabel) there are two William Tuckers of the right age in Mason County at that time. I've checked the 1910 and 1920 Censuses, and they are the same age, same location - I can't tell which one is the right one! One is the son of John W. Tucker and Maggie L., siblings: Nancy B., Myrtle N., Marvin, Harold, Margaret The other is the son of William Tucker and Eva, siblings: Annie B., Henry/Noel, Stella M., Rosanell, Richard If anyone can assist me, please feel free to contact me by email or through the boards - either will work. KY court record dated Apr 27, 1880? Or an abstract? A short summary of a Rev War bounty land application based upon the service of John CHESHIRE references this Mason Co. KY court record. No other details provided in the summary. This court record probably contains the testimony of an individual of a marriage or death of one of John's descendants or states family relationships, etc. and very important for me to locate. The Rev War application itself has not been located. John served in the VA State Navy and died in Prince William County in 1779. Many records of this Virginia county no longer exist and it has been difficult to research my ancestor, John, for this reason. I don't have a page number for the court record but the date of April 27, 1880 should narrow this down to a few pages, and CHESHIRE should be mentioned in the record itself. Other surnames that are associated with John are: KEYS, LYNN, SIMMONS, AUSTIN, HAYNIE. Help greatly appreciated! Sincerely, Jeanne Johnson

The website has address was changed to: http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/esh/. There are some exciting changes taking place. The hospital cemetery is estimated to have as many as 4500 or more persons buried in it. There are 3 marked graves and one large tombstone. Our goal is to find the names of as many of these individuals as possible. To do this we will need all the help we can get. Locating information prior to the 1911 mandatory registration of deaths is very difficult. We ask that anyone who has any information to please pass it along for inclusion. Newspapers obits are excellent sources of information as well as local county court records/commitment papers. Currently I am gathering death certificates of those who died at the hospital. We have the years 1911 to 1915 posted, but with partial information listed. We are reworking this to include other data such as: place of birth, usual residence, name of parents and their place of birth, occupation, length of stay, cause of death & contributory cause of death. The majority of these persons were from counties other than Fayette and some were also born in other states and countries. Other data already posted includes: 1860 and 1870 Mortality Schedule of hospital deaths; individuals who were patients at the taking of the 1890 Veterans Census; patients listed in the 1870 Federal Population Census; 1833 & 1849 Cholera Deaths and some newspaper accounts of hospital deaths. In the coming months I will be working on gathering more census data, court records of deceased patients, lunacy bonds and locating more newspaper accounts. There are pictures of the Eastern State Hospital Cemetery taken in Nov. 2006. If any one wants information how to obtain a relatives records e-mail address is mahat@adelphia.net. Death certificates can be obtained through 1955 and the 1956 death certificates will out in the next 2-4 months. Jerry Taylor is webmaster and I am the co-ordinator for the Eastern State Hospital Cemetery Project. Thanks, Mary Hatton & Jerry Taylor (mahat@adelphia.net)
