    1. Capt. Joseph C. Belt
    2. Doug Gordon
    3. My g-g-g-grandfather served with Capt. Joseph C. Belt's infantry company, of Pogue's 4th Regiment of Kentucky Volunteer Militia in the War of 1812 (from Fleming Co.). I'm trying to find out more about where he was actually stationed. The only details I have at this time is that it was in "northern Ohio" from Dec. 1812 to Mar. 1813 or later. I thought that someone on the list might have researched Capt. Belt as an ancestor or relative and might know more about his military history. I did have one indication that Pogue's regiment was at Fort Defiance at one time in 1812, but they probably moved around as the focus changed. Doug Gordon

    1. THOMPSON/COLLINS
    2. Robbintina
    3. Has anyone come across a COLLINS family link to this particular THOMPSON family? My ancestor was Erasmus Thompson Collins born 1819 KY married to Susan Willoughby on 15 May 1850 Mason Co KY. I *believe* his father was Aquilla Collins, but only have his participation in some court documents to support that (no will). I have no idea who Aquilla Collins' wife was or where they came from, but I suspect Maryland. With the name of Erasmus Thompson Collins I would suspect that there is a family tie in of some sort, but have never been able to find it. Other children of Aquilla (I *think*) are: Mason Collins born 1812, Milton J Collins born 1815, America Collins born @ 1823, John T. Collins born 1829 & Rebecca Collins born 1795. Hoping someone can prove or disprove this line. I've never come across anyone else researching this line of Collins. 1. Sidell, Cooper, Browning
    2. I am searching for new information on my family line. I am descended from Robert Harrison Sidell and his wife, Mary Ann Cooper. It is suspected that a Thomas B Sidell/Scidle and wife Sarah/Sally of Nicholas County, KY were Robert's parents. Micajah Cooper and his wife, Nancy are Mary Ann's parents. Robert and Mary Ann lived mainly in Mason Co., KY in the mid-to-late 1800s, altho most of their children are reportedly born in Bracken Co., KY, where Mary Ann's parents lived. I am directly descended from LouEmma Sidell, daughter of Robert and Mary Ann. She married a James Monroe Browning (son of William Browning jr.) and, surprisingly, none of her family members witnessed their wedding and their wedding was held at the home of a friend whose last name was Gleason. So there is some question about whether the families (Sidell and Browning) got along. My great-great-grandma, who gave me much info on her family, said that William Browning's wife was a full-blooded 'indian' altho i have yet to find any 'proof' of that yet. If any of this sounds familiar, please contact me. Thank you, Donna in Montana
