"Lon" as he was known married his 3rd cousin Susan Mary Mattingly on October 11, 1875 at St. Charles Borromeo Church. They had 10 children (8 of which survived to adulthood). In 1890 Lon and Susie moved to Owensboro in Daviess County where Susie died of TB in 1910. Lon joined a number of his children in St. Louis where he suffered a series of strokes and later died on December 9, 1941. Lon was a farmer and laborer by trade. Lon and Susie are buried with two of their children in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in Owensboro. Note: Susan was born on May 16, 1854 and was the daughter of Edward G. and Julia Graves Mattingly.
