List: 2 questions: 1) My ggg uncle George W. Abell, b 6 Nov. 1828. On 1850 Census there are two George Abells, age 21 in Marion Co.(One listed as George A, but cd be error, as most were named George Washington). 1880 census shows two George Abells, age 52, one m. to Elizabeth, one to a Martha. Found a family group sheet on LDS site that shows a Geo. W. married to Martha Jane Ewing, but the submitter gives Martha Ewing's d.o.d. as 1877, so she shouldn't be on the 1880 census! Can anyone tell me who this other George Abell is, and which George married Martha Ewing, and Martha's actual date of death? 2) Went to the LDS Family History Center yesterday and checked Marion Co. and Abell listings at Salt Lake City. Found two listings I had not heard of: Abell, Abel, Able surnames in the federal census of KY, 1800-1850, and The Abell Family of St. Mary's County MD and the American Revolution, both by William Russell Abell. Unfortunately the 1st is not available on microfilm/fiche, so can't get it on loan. Anyone know of these books? If fairly accurate the census book could be very helpful, as it includes some genealogical information which might sort out these pesky Abells. Any info greatly appreciated! Beth Abel Jones
