As far as I have learned, John Downs who married Nancy Harper and immigrated soon after the first group to KY if not in the first group was the son of Joseph Downs and wife Anne of St. Mary's County, MD. I am sending you the following information on the Down's line and associated families as a help to others who may be researching these lines. It was very difficult to figure out which John Downs my ancestor was as there were several living in Nelson County when the sons grew up. John and Francis, sons of John of MD, both named sons after their father, plus their sons named sons John as well. John Down, Sr. was called Uncle Johnnie Downs and lived to be 97.
