Pace was b. 1844 in Harlan Co, KY and died in 1905. He married Nancy J Bailey in 1865. She was b. 5/1844 in KY and d. in 1922. I did not know about their daughter Mary until I checked the 1880 census of Magoffin Co. KY and found several children. The children that I know of are as follows: Mandy J. b. 1867 Mary H. or A. b. 1869 (it looked like H on the microfilm but it could have been A) S. E. (daughter) b. 1870 Jane b. 1872 Alexander Monroe b. 10/11/1874 Wallis (Wallace?) b. 1877 Lieu b. 1879 Harmon T. b. 1/1882 Nannie D. b. 4/1884 Stella b. 8/1886 They were also on the 1900 census of Magoffin Co, KY. The ancestry of John C. Pace, going back 5 generations is as follows: 1. John Pace b. abt 1725 m. Sarah Burgh 2. Thomas Pace b. abt 1754 Prince George Co, VA, d. abt 1780 Yadkin Co, VA, m. Keziah Howell b. abt 1754, d. aft. 1790. Thomas was killed in the Battle of Shallow Ford, fighting for the Tories. 3. Jesse Pace b. abt 1773 Surry Co, NC, d. abt 1820, Mary "Polly" b. abt 1773, d abt 1846 Harlan Co, KY Jesse as son of Thomas was inferred by Bruce Howard in his book, "Our Colonial Ancestors". He is the only suspected child of Thomas. Jesse and Mary had 4 children. 4. John P. Pace b. 1810 Harlan Co, KY, d. bef 1880 KY, m. Sally Ely b. 1812 KY. (She was daughter of William Ely, Jr. and Mary Rebecca Saylor). John and Sally m. 12/11/1828 in Harlan Co, KY and had 7 children. Family is on 1850 census of Harlan Co, KY. 5. John C.
