Ancestry.com info is that this John W. was John Will and that his mother was Catherine Chinn. I tend to think the first find of Thomas Cooper and wife Mary J. was likely.Need a little more info though on John Wesley Cooper--what was his wife's name and some of his children.

It concerned me that Ohio County was so far away, but knowing how what we THINK is correct, and what our families tend to THINK is correct can sometimes be uttering wrong, I felt obligated to include it in the discussion. I have debunked so many family traditions in my research- my Dad was angry at me for months at one point because a story he cherished turned out to be untrue. Another side of the family has each one of the children stating a different place of birth, when in fact, they were all born in two counties. Not one of them got it correct on a record!
