Dear All: I'm thinking of writing to try to locate a will or probate record for George Helton, Sr., husband of Melinda (Melly) Wade. I don't have his exact date of death, but I believe that it was in the 1860s (perhaps 1864). I do not know if he died intestate or if the estate was probated with a will. Would the locate courthouse be the best bet or should I go to the historical society for those types of records? I have limited time these days to do much research, and I know that the folks on this list will know best how to proceed. Thanks for any hints or directions to persue, Constance
