In the family is Edward age 9, Mary F. age 6, and John W. age 6/12. Wesley is 31 years old, a farmer, born in KY. Catherine is 27, born KY. Next door is a John P. Cooper, age 37 born KY, farmer. This could be your John Wesley Cooper born 1850 like you thought. The census was taken 16th of August 1850, that would mean that John W. was born in Feb or so. Dear All: Does anyone have information on George Helton and his wife Melly before 1860? I know many folks claim heritage with this couple. They had several children, including George, and I suspect, my son's ancestress, Eliza Anna Helton Hamon Montgomery. She is not usually listed with the children, but the naming pattern of her children suggests a George Helton was probably her father. BUT, where was George Helton/Hilton in 1850? In 1860 the census estimates that he was born 1792 in Virginia. Constance
