Sarah is daughter of Jonathan Prater and Mary Breton, granddaughter of Archibald Prater. Where was he during the census of 1840 and 1850? At the time of the census of 1840, Wiley Cook, their son was too young to be married. Neither Wiley nor his father were listed on the census. On the census of 1850, Wiley is found in Floyd County, KY as a newlywed. In a couple of postings, I have seen his death listed as 1860 in Magoffin,KY. Does anyone know if this is correct? Does anyone know if the Cooks were a family all this time? I am a descendant of their youngest son, Miles Cook and Marinda (Rindy) Jane Purcell. Thank you for any help you may be able to offer.
