Im in the process of trying to figure out who belongs to who. In her notes she states that : John Salyer b. 7/22/1803 d. 3/10/1865 m. Polly Wadkins b. 8/11/1805 and d. 4/18/1877 both buried at The John Salyers Cem in Magoffin. Their son was Morgan Salyer. he m. Elizabeth Collinsworth d/o Edmond Collins and Rebecca George, Elizabeth Collinsworth was b. 1839 in Virginia. ( name difference here ?) Their Daughter was Rebecca Patton Salyer b. 3/3/1860 Magoffin. d. 1/8/1940 Magoffin. Rebecca married twice #1 Mr. Salyers #2 Samuel Huston Patrick 1/11/1877 If Rebecca and Hustons marriage date is correct and the age of their first born Harry is correct ( according to his obit it is Jul 3 1877.) Harry was born 6 months after the marriage when Rebecca was 17 years and 4 months old. I know folks married young at the time, But I have to wonder if Rebecca was actually married prior to Huston. In Harrys obit, those listed as preeciding him in death doesn't list his mother who died 11 months prior. (strange) It list Huston as a survivor. Take all of this with a grain of salt--theres a lot of research needed here. Im scanning these obits and will be glad to share them. Attached is the death notice for Rebecca. Id love to have copies of the photo's you have and the info on June as well. Thanks, Carolyn
