Just found your message. Hadn't surfed ancestry for quite a while. My dad was Elbert S. Layne, son of James R. Layne, son of Elbert S. Cap Layne. My dad spoke alot of your Grandpa Joner when I was growing up. He spoke quite fondly of him, so evidently my dad and his uncle Joner were quite close. Always wondered who he was and anything about him would be interesting to me. My dad was a coal miner in Kentucky and W. Virginia later. Him and mom moved to Logansport, Indiana, in the 1940's?. Mom and dad had eleven kids. I am the youngest. There are four of us left. Where do you live? So, it appears our grandfathers, Joner and James, were brothers. Does that make us fourth cousins or something along those lines???? Just ran into someone in Logansport last week that is related to the Ratliff's from Floyd County, Kentucky. Interesting.
