Hi all ~ ~ Just wanted to re-introduce myself. I have only been doing genealogy for 10 years, but have been very successful with help from friends like you and of course the Magoffin County Historical Society. I have found 3 Revolutionary War ancestors - 2 of which have been verified by the DAR. I am and have been searching for proof that Lewis Green Jr's daughter Elizabeth who m James Howard is actually Lewis's daughter. Unfortunately at that time in our history and censuses - no daughters were named until after Elizabeth and James were married. All of MCHS says that Elizabeth is the d/o Lewis. However, until I find something absolutely on paper --- like a marriage bond -- as far as the DAR is concerned, this Elizabeth is not Lewis's daughter. If anyone can help me, I sure would appreciate it. The full list of surnames I am researching is: Allen, Cameron, Howard, Green, Salyer Nice to be back on the list.
