I'm not sure whether you're addressing this to me -- Morris Fletcher -- or to someone else or perhaps to the list? On 7 April, I did post some info (let's call it my "reading" or understanding of things) about this Reuben's ancestry. Thoroughly respecting all that he was and all that he did, I'm =still not= a researcher of this person....as my connections to these Patricks is further back/older than this Reuben. Like you, I can read census records and put "2 and 2 together"; but I cannot offer direct family history, stories, or lore about this fine man. I do hope that others, descended from him, will chime in and share/compare information. Good luck in your searches (I sure as heck need that in mine!!). Mo Fletcher

    3. Admin note: We understand that you meant to say that "Meredith was a son of William Patrick..." instead of "Rebecca was a dau of William..." No big deal. I'm not a Patrick authority, but I think you =may be= skipping/missing one generation. Many say that Robert Patrick (~1705-1758~) was the father of Jeremiah...and that Hugh Patrick (b ~1680) was Robert's father; thus, Reuben's grandfather. I can't speak yet to references or "authority" or the precision of dates; but for what it may be worth, those researchers would show this Patrick line (with approx year born) as: Reuben (1840) -- subj of the photo. s/o Meredith (1804) -- whose sister Mary "Polly" (1801) is my ggg-grm. s/o William, Sr (1763) s/o Jeremiah (1738) s/o Robert (1705) -- original immigrant of this line, from Scotland in 1725. s/o Hugh (1680) s/o Robert (1635) s/o John (1605) -- here and for next 5 generations back, surname Kilpatrick is cited by many. s/o Thomas (1580) s/o James (1552) s/o John (1530) s/o William (1495) s/o John (1460) s/o John (1429) -- my 15-great-grandfather ==IF== this line is correct!! Other researchers will say there's no acceptable (to them) proof of this continuous line -- that there's a disconnect between our colonial and KY Patricks and the specific 1725 immigrant Robert (b 1705) shown above. Mo Fletcher ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> Capt. Reuben Patrick was a son of Meredith Patrick b. 1803 and Rebecca Williams. Rebecca was a dau of William Patrick b. 1762 (Rev. War soldier) and Mollie Reins. Mollie was a dau of Meredith Reins. William was a son of Jeremiah Patrick (Rev. War) and Sarah "Sally" Blair. Jeremiah was a son of Hugh Patrick.
