Mr. Colwin was killed "By a train," before Feb. 1910, as Lucy remarries in Lawrence County Ohio on that date. Who was George Colwin and what and where did the accident that took his life happen? My mother always pronounced the name ColVin, I read the marriage record as Colwin. Any help appreciated. Mary A. Powell Sutphin

However in the 1920 Census for Kentucky the only Fritz this age that was found was a Fritz Williamson--is this him?

    3. Mildred. It's rather odd this should come up. I am leaving next Tuesday [from SC] to go to Thurmont MD to where our first Risner owned property. The name of the property was Green Springs and his name was Hans Michael Risner. He emigrated from southern Germany in 1732 and was born in 1706. I have gotten to know your dad on my visits to Salyersville. The best place to start researching Risners are the Risner Books from the Magoffin County Historical Society. Both my grandmothers were Risners from Magoffin Co. KY. 2. Someone gave me this info--but no source given. Isaac "Ike" Risner b. 10 Jul 1825 Kentucky, probably in Floyd County. He has also been listed with a birthdate of 25 Oct 1825. Married to Mary "Polly" Miller circa 1848 They had at least 9 children (Martha Jane, Louisa, Elizabeth, John McKinley, Granville Pearl, Logan, Mahala, Lavisa and Abraham.) Isaac Risner died December 23, 1886, and is buried in Risner Point Cemetery, Guage, Kentucky. The Risner book states that Isaac was "killed while cutting down a tree and it kicked back at him." James Risner b. Jan. 1809,Harlon Co.Ky., m. June 29,1828 in Morgan Co.Ky, Margaret "Peggy" Adams. Here is a list of Children for James and Peggy which may or may not be correct. Meredith Risner b Nov 1831 William "Pretty Bill" Risner b. 1832 Idress Risner b. May 12,1833 Martin Risner b. March 1835 Michael Risner b. 1837 Wilson Risner b. 1840 Francis M Risner b. 1841 George Risner b. 1844 Mary J Risner b. 1846 James Peter "Pea" Risner b. 1848 Lark Risner b. 1851 Some of these were living in Floyd Co KY in 1850.

    1. Salyer Family Book
    2. If you are interested in the Salyer History you can order from your library a book written by Elisabeth Salyer called the Salyer Family. It is out of print now and was written in the early 1980's very good history on many of the Magoffin County Families - Howards, Risners and more listed thru the book also. I had to get my research while at the library as it is not allowed to be removed from the building. I copied the info I needed. Also Mag. Co. Hist. Soc. has a very complete family history on the Patricks. My grgrgrmom was Charlotte Patrick who married Hiram Patrick. Charlotte had a dau.my grgrmom named Eunice Salley by a Nathan Salley from Breathitt Co. before she married Hiram Patrick. for more info please let me know. Kaye

I would be interested in any info regarding Permelia and Dennis--who were his paents? when and where were they born and when and where did they die? Who were their children? I believe Abigail Salyer's parents were Jacob Salyer born 1798 in Moccasin Creek, Russel Co VA and Newcarius Rowland born 1808. Jacob's parents were Zacariah Salyer Jr. and Mary. Zacararish Salyer Jr. was the son of Zacariah Sr. I do not have any proof as this info was given to me by someone else.
