Good Morning to all Caldwell Researchers, I am so excited to tell you some great news! I just wanted to let everyone know that we now have a Caldwell County Genealogy Society. Organized Tuesday night Aug. 17th It was wonderful to be a part of all of this! It was something to see so many wonderful researchers gathered together for a common cause. There were members from the Caldwell Co. Historical Society, DAR, SAR, Jim Pearce Camp Civil War Group, many who have published Caldwell County Books such as Greg Watson who has been doing the cemetery books. It was just the first of many enjoyable meetings to come. If you are interested in learning more or joining, a webpage has been set up on the Caldwell Cemeteries website for the Genealogy Society. http://westernkyhistory.org/caldwellcemetery/caldgensoc.html Also a grave marking ceremony for at least three Revolutionary War Soldiers will be held at Fredonia, Ky. Oct.2, 2010 Robert Leeper, John Elder, James Hawthorn and possibly William Hamilton 1750-1800 if information can be found for him. For more information on this see the Caldwell Cemeteries website. http://westernkyhistory.org/caldwellcemetery/ Hope to see you at the Grave Marking Ceremony or a Genealogy Society Meeting.
