    3. Hi, Does anyone know what part of Caldwell County that became Trigg County? I have the Thetfords in Christian County, then Caldwell County and then Trigg. I thought maybe they did not move just the county lines. Cathy Fleming

I thought maybe they did not move just the >county lines. > >Cathy Fleming > A portion of the Trigg-Caldwell line was shifted slightly to the north in the mid-late 1820s with the result that several Caldwell county families suddenly found themselves residents of Trigg. Among them were Olivers and Wynn/Winns. The shifted line started about where the "Blackhawk" community is located and ran roughly west to the western edge of the county. Of course Trigg had been created from Christian and Caldwell in 1820. The shift is apparent in the Caldwell and Trigg Tax records of the 1820s and on good maps. Pat -- Pat Oliver [email protected]
