    2.        Lucinda Hiett Hamby b. 1821- raised her family in Marshall County, then by 1880 census was in Lyon County.  Does anybody know a death date, and where she might be buried?        Also, Lucinda's daughter Rachel Hamby (b. 1848) married A. Hart in Marshall County, then in Lyon County 1870- 1880. Wondering what happened to the Hart family after 1880.  A son, N. L. Hart married in Lyon county in 1894.  Can anybody give me leads on Madlin(e) Hart, b. 1870,  or Anton Hart, b. 1875?   Our gr-gr-grandmother was Mary Hart Duff, but can't find the sibs.        Thanks so much.        Cherilyn Trusty

Ken G. *************************** Jan 14, 2005 XXXXX, It is odd that you should bring this up. Larry Walston and myself are in the process of restoring this monument. It is about 100 yards from the new Springs subdivision as you go toward Old Kuttawa. It is on the lake side of the road. Last summer, we formed the Friends of Cobb's Battery Monument. We have met with the Corps of Engineers, Kuttawa city council, Eddyville city council, Lyon County Fiscal Court, Lyon County Tourism Commission, and the State Highway Department. We now have permission to renovate this monument. We are only aware of two such in the country, the other being in New Orleans. We are accepting donations and have already accumulated over $600. We are currently waiting for the weather to get better. By this time next year we hope to have the monument fixed (it is cracked terribly) and the area terraced with visitor parking and a handicapped accessible walking trail. This may be more than you wanted to know. Richard P'Pool Princeton, Ky. [email protected] ********************************************************************** *****Your Western Ky. 1. Cemetery Cleanings
    2. Ken & Peggy Gilkey
    3. FYI This was sent to me by Frank Morse on Saturdays (Dec. 18, 2004) cleanup of the Caldwell Co. (abandoned) Cemeteries. Ken G. ...... We had 12 show up for the cleaning of the black section of the Gray Cemetery (behind Dr. Frank Gianinni's house on Hwy 139 South 1 mile from I-24. Then we went to the Marquess Cemetery (Hwy 1272 past Thomas Cayce Supply into Lyon Co.Turn on Marquess Road and it crosses back into Caldwell County. It was the worst one we have done so far. It will make some great before and after photos. On to the Robertson Cemetery ( also on Hwy 1272 about 1/4 mile from intersection of Hwy139 South. It was a very small cemetery with lots of thorn trees. Also another highlight was to see some old headstones that were uncovered and Greg Watson grab his paper and pencil and start writing down the information off of the stones. I gave bad directions to Douglas Creasey on finding where we were to work. He couldn't find us until we had already left the first cemetery. He called yesterday afternoon and told me this and also informed me that he went to the Lowery Cemetery around Creswell (12 miles north of Princeton on Hwy 139 North. He cleaned it off by himself. He has 2 older brothers buried there. I think one was a couple years old and the other a few days old when they died. Next cleaning is 2nd Saturday in January, 2005 ************************************* \\\|/// \\ ~ ~ // ( @ @ ) ----oOOo-(_)-oOOo----McGillekehr ********************************************************************** *****Your Western Ky.
