Aldrich and his wife, Mary Iola Aldrich are buried together in the Auburn Cemetery and they have a double stone. It reads: "Charles W. Aldrich, b. 18 June 1922 and d. 29 June 1995, PFC US Army, WW II. Mary Iola Aldrich, b. 4 June 1927 and d. 11 July 1995, married 3 March 1945 Parents of Patricia, Darlene, and David. Grandparents of Celena. (Footstone is present with picture on it)." According to Social Security Death Index, Charles was born in Michigan. The SSDI record for his wife is under the name "Iola and she was born in Kentucky. The Genealogy Society also has a book containing funeral home records which would have given Mary's maiden name. The book goes up to December of 1995. They do not appear in this book. The most likely reason they do not is since they were buried in Auburn Cemetery, they likely lived in Auburn, Ky. and the local funeral home there is Young's Funeral Home and that is the only funeral home that would not furnish their records for the book. As far as an obituary, the Logan County Library has a great collection of obituaries and if one is there it will most likely provide you with maiden name for Mary Iola and possibly married names for daughters. Please let me know if I can help you further. Sherry Myers Garaner Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
