    3. I found some extra information on the William McIntosh record from a good friend that knows about the territories before Illinois became a state in 1818.  This information is important as to the exact location of William McIntosh when the deposition was wanted in Robertson Co. Tn records. By the time this record was filed Randolph County had left the Indiana Territory and  was part of Illinois Territory and Randolph covered all of southern Illinois.  So,  William McIntosh was in southern Illinois when the deposition  was wanted in Robertson County, Tennessee.    And so is Benjamin McIntosh who died in Johnson County, IL in 1815.  They were the first two of the McIntosh bunch to come to southern Illinois. In 1810 Charles, Thomas and John McIntosh had joined them. John is the son of Charles McIntosh of Robertson Co., Tn.  Illinois Territory was established March 1, 1809 so the deposition was actually sent to William McIntosh in the wrong location. He was not in Indiana Territory at that time but it was part of Indiana prior to that time but apparently those in Robertson Co., Tn. did not know of the split of the two territories.  The record:  5 April 1809 William Parks vs Henry Johnson ordered that deft have deposition of John Karr in Ohio County, Ky and William McIntosh in Randolph County, in the Indiana Territory  by giving 20 days notice from Records of Robertson County, Tennessee County Court Records  Vol 2 1808-1811. I wonder now if William ever received the deposition.  Illinois Territory was formed a  little over a month before the deposition  was dated 5 April 1809 in Robertson Co., Tn records.
