Many reports have Jim Bowie being born there but I can't seem to trace his lineage to my family although all the "old folks" say we are related. I have sisters Sarah Emily Buie (b. 26 Jan 1854 in Kentucky, d. 7 Jan 1927 in Logan County, Kentucky) and Temperence Jane "Janie" Buie (b. 14 May 1858 in KY, d. 3 Nov 1925 in Logan Co, KY) marrying brothers Richard M. Nash and Lewis F. Nash, respectively. The Buie sisters' parents are John Buie (b. abt 1820 in Tenn.) and Susan Redfern/Redfearn (b. abt 1819). The Nash line continues into my family. I have census and marriage records confirming these events and that is as far as I have gotten. I would like to see if there is a link to Jim Bowie or not since the names are so close and they lived in the same place but I am stuck with conflicting accounts. Any help would be appreciated.
