I believe him to be the husband of my great-great-grandmother's sister, Bridget (Dennison ) CURRAN. In the 1870 Warren Co., KY Census they are shown in the Household of John HOGAN. My 4th GGrandmother was Sarah Curran Duvall. In a bio of her son (Dr. Joseph Potts Thomas), is it mentioned that she was a direct descendant of John Philpot Curran. She was born in MD in the 1780's. Here is the quote: "The physicians and surgeons of the United States" by William Biddle Atkinson C. Robson, 1878 - Biography & Autobiography - 788 pages Page 243 THOMAS, JOSEPH POTTS, Pembroke, Ky., was born in Clarksville, Tenn., Sept. 9th, 1830, of mixed Irish, Welsh, and native ancestry. His father, Captain Joseph Pulls Thomas, who emigrated from Virginia in 1822, was in the war of 1812, and went to reside in Clarksville, Tenn.; and his mother, Sarah Curran (Duvall) Thomas, was a direct descendant of John Philpot Curran, native of Maryland..." I would be interested about any Curran families in the area of Logan KY or Montgomery TN.
