Its one of the best reasons for maintaining a second, free email service, such as Juno. As to the Porters, I am of the John Porter line in Prince Edward Co VA at its creation in 1754-55. Six of the 8 children were in Logan Co KY by 1800 I keep data on several separate Porter lines in the Logan-Butler-Ohio-Warren Co KY area 1800-1880 to keep track of who belongs where. By my count there were at least five lines. Of them, I suspect that the John & Hugh Porter ones share common ancestors, but lack proof. Certainly they intermarried in KY. The others arrived from states other than VA and are, therefore, less likley candidates for my line. But I do have some data on them. Always happy to swap. Email me at [email protected] JTL
