One of Benjamin Coats and Anna Baker Coats' sons Jeremiah Coats went to IL....:) We do have one contact with his descendants...but no one in our DNA project for Ben's line yet...the Coats' seem to have all daughtered out!! Jeremiah Baker was the brother of Anna Baker Coats, Jeremiah Coats' Uncle....:) Jeremiah Baker's wife was Abi/Albe, we figure short for Abigail but not sure yet.. Rev William Coats, Ben's brother died in Callaway County MO in 1836, my William, jr his son married 2nd Cena Callaway McLaughlin (the widow McLaughlin) died after 1850 in Henry County MO, his first wife was Patsy Tracy and there are quite a few kids, one named William as well... Wilson Coats, brother to Ben and Will died in Bedford County TN in 1822, they had another brother Barton Coats that lived in Robertson County TN on the Red River...they also had sister Ann who married William Stark and Priscilla, we have no info on her though... They are all the kids of William Coats w Frances of Newberry County SC, lived on Kings Creek and he died in Kershaw County SC in 1784, young I believe because his sons Ben and William were not *of age* yet, although Ann had already married and is refered to as Ann Stark in the Will... Once again the Smith County TN court records record that Jeremiah Coats, Ben's son was living in IL when Ben dies and his estate is settled...
