In Perrins History of Kentucky there is a Samuel J. Caldwell and in the write up it says that he was the son of James and Martha (Reid) Caldwell. He (James) was born March 10, 1810 and his father was GEORGE W. CALDWELL, a native of Virginia and who in early youth came to Logan County now Butler, where he died about 1837. Nancy
