George (Rhoda Bishop) Caldwell of Butler County KY is my great X3 uncle. Samuel J. ( born 1840 Butler County and died in OK. in 1927) was indeed his son. But there was also a Samuel Caldwell (Logan County) son of Robert Caldwell. He had a large family in Logan County. I think Barb who is one this site has much information to share about that group. As for Hogans in George Caldwell's group( Butler County) I am not familiar with that name. I have George's line through 1725-1970's There is no connect found so far as to connect these two groups of Caldwells. Both family branches came from about the same area in Ireland and settled in Virginia before coming to Kentucky. Lynne
