I am a Maulding descendent from Logan Co. who migrated through Henderson Co. Ky. to Hamilton Co. IL. MANY Logan Co. residents followed the same trail, from Logan Co. Ky. through the Shawneetown, IL. Landoffice, up to Hamilton and Wayne Co's IL. I am also a JOHNSON descendent, William Johnson and family, from Tn. to Hamilton Co. IL. I would like ANYONE with Logan Co. roots who had some family member end up in SE IL.; Saline, Hamilton, Wayne, Jefferson, Franklin Co's to list some of these family names, as we were probably part of a larger migration pattern West-eventually to St. Louis and all points in Missouri. As they eventually "treed" out Hamilton Co. etc., these settlers moved West to Missouri. It's just quite interesting to follow these migration routes, and we often learn some new things. Well, I need to correct a few errors here...did this before morning coffee, I guess...:) It is Benjamin Coats, not Baker, he married Ann Baker, and the William Baker likewise should be William Coats, William, Wilson, Benjamin and Barton Coats are all brothers...
