    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: OWENS MARRS CLIFFORD Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QBB.2ACI/3082 Message Board Post: My father, Mason Owens, Born on Sept. 24, 1878 in Threeforks, Warren County, KY. His father, Charles Owens, Born Oct. 26, 1855 in Threeforks, married Martha Arnold, daughter of George W. Arnold. (Both Charles and Martha died in Mar. of 1879 of scarlet fever, leaving my father an orphan at age 6 months.) Charles father was John Owen, Born 1818, VA. And married Nancy Hardcastle of Warren County. Other children of John and Nancy were: James T. Owens Born 1848 in Threeforks and married Nancy Franklin of Warren County. John W. Owens Born 1853 in Threeforks married 1st. Mary V. Washer, 2nd Malvina Stader and 3rd Harriet Garman, all of Warren County. Sarah Ann Owens Born 1857 in Threeforks, married James B. Davis. I have believed that my gr. Grandfather, John Owen was a son of Obediah Owen of Allen County because of the census list that Obediah lived on a farm adjoining Shadrach Hardcastle father of Nancy Hardcastle. Also John and Nancy were married by the same minister as the other sons of Obediah. But alas, through DNA testing with the Owen Family Association my DNA shows I am a descendant of Richard Owen and his wife Elizabeth ? Of Halifax County, VA. Thus, I need to start my family tree all over again. There is a James Owens family in Logan County (joins Warren County on the west side) and appeared there about 1818 or 1819 from, I believe Tazewell County, VA. James was born in England ? in 1763 and married Elizabeth Marrs of Augusta County VA. James father was supposed to be William Owen and married Susannah ? James and Elizabeth had the following children. Samuel Owens Born 1785 and married Katherine Ruthford William Owens Born 1789 married Hannah Clifford and James Owens Jr. Born 1791 married Nancy Clifford, a sister of Hannah. James and William both had children who fit my gr grandfathers age in the 1820 and 30 census of Logan County. I have no proof of any of this information, as I took it from Owens and Marrs researchers and just seems to be a place to start. Would appreciate any help from anyone researching any of the above families and thanks for reading such a long and confusing article. Jim Owens

    1. Marriage Lookup Short and Wariner or Warren
    2. Charlotte E Flock
    3. I'm looking for a marriage record of William Boyd Short, married to Caroline Wariner or Warren. Their only child, Charles McPherson Short. On Charles death certificate it mentions his parents names.. The closest that I can figure out that William probably got married in the late 60's but no later then 1872, because that's when Charles McPherson Short was born. I have not been able to place William Boyd Short on the 1870 census. So I want to think that he was married after 1870 but no later then 1872. Remember Charles was born in 1872. But he could of been married before 1870, and I just can't find him on the census. If you happen to have a marriage record book on hand could you please check the index. for William Boyd Short and Caroline Wariner or Warren. Charlotte
