    1. [KYLOGAN] William McIntosh
    2. marianne dillow
    3. My 3rd great grandparents are George Washington McIntosh that went mainly by Washington McIntosh He was born 3 July 1813 in Illinois. He died 26 Mar 1875 in Pulaski Co., IL. He married Elizabeth Hoffner. I am still researching who his parents are but he must descend from the McIntoshs that were in Culpeper Co., Va .... moved to Caswell Co., NC.. on to Robertson Co., Tn and Logan Co., Ky on to southern Illinois. I am interested if finding who this William McIntoshs parents were in the following records.  I believe he could be my Washington McIntosh's father.  In 1807 William and Benjamin McIntosh were in Knox County, Indiana Territory. 5 April 1809 William Parks vs Henry Johnson ordered that deft have deposition of john Kerr in Ohio Co., Ky. and William McIntosh in Randolph county in Indiana.    Records of Robertson Co., TN. Court Minutes Vol 2 1808-1811. 1810 Illinois census has William, Benjamin, Thomas, John and Charles McIntosh living near Fort Wilkensonville near GrandChain. On 14 Nov  1811 a William Mantesh (McIntosh) married Baphala Smith in Randolph Territory which became a county of Illinois in 1812. My Washington McIntosh was then born 3 July 1813 in illinouis. William settled at Wetaug , illinois in 1816 near where Washington lived in later years.  Benjamin McIntosh died in Johnson Co., IL. in 1815. He left  wife Frances, children: Betsy, Unity, Ceny, Stacy, Benjamin, Joshua and Charles. his will named William Smith, John Burchfield  and John Latham. This county was neighboring the others mentioned in IL as they were formed from one another. John Mcintosh died 6 Oct 1831 in Union Co., IL. He was the son of Charles McIntosh of Robertson Co., Tn. Thomas Mcintosh died 12 Jan 1837 Union Co., IL. Appraisal was done by Coleman Boren, John McCary, and Solomon P. McIntosh (Is he the son of William McIntosh that died in Logan Co., Ky ca 1800-1801 who was married to wife Nancy ?) ..., Solomon Parks McIntosh.... IMPORTANT: In 1818 Illinois became a state. Counties wre formed and in the 1818 Census Charles, John, and Thomas McIntosh are living near the Boren family with William McIntosh living next to William Smith and James Murphy.  The line up of next door neighbors are: # 173 Alexandria Beggs;  # 174 John McIntosh;  # 176 Margain (Morgan) Boren; # 177 Susanna Boren;  # 178 John Boren;  #182 Archibel Begg;  # 183 Hoza (Hosea) Boren;  # 184 Thomas McIntosh;  # 185 William Smith ; # 186 William McIntosh;  # 197, James Murphy;  # @48 Joseph McLehanny;  # 249 Thomas Cox, Sr. and  #250 John McIntosh. In the 1784 Caswell Co., NC. tax list of Gloucester and St. Davi';s District is John McIntosh;  Gabriel Murphy;  Charles McIntosh;  Solomon Parks;  William Parks, Esq.;  William Anglin; Lewis Barton; James Barton; William Brownin; John Murphy, and Isaac Boren.    There are many records in Caswell Co., NC on to Robertson Co., TN and Logan Co., Ky before coming to southern Illinois. In Logan County, Ky. when (a) William McIntosh who died ca 1800-1801 died Middleton and Barnabas Smith had land bordering this William.  Also living on Clifty in Logan County, Ky in the 1802-1807 tax list was John Boren; Bazel Boren;  Hosea Boren and Joseph Boren. Meanwhile, Alexander McIntosh 's will in Robertson Co., TN is dated 10 Dec 1793 and proven 15 Apr 1799 by Bazil   Boren.  Also, Charles McIntosh died ca 1836 in Robertson Co., TN and his wife was Candice McAelany... is she kin to the Joseph McLenny that was in 1818 Illinois census and who i believe moved back to TN. ?? Nimrod McIntosh estate in 1844 in Robertson Co., TN.  When Benjamin McIntosh died in Johnson Co., IL in  1815 they wanted a deposition of Nimrod living in Robertson Co., Tn. and a material witness who was absent named Stephen Boren. Millington Smith and Barnabas Smith also came from Logan Co., Ky to Union Co., IL. and was associated with the McIntosh's and the Boren's. Anglin's also moved in the area.   Also, in Robertson Co., Tn John McIntosh had two daughters: Mary married Hosea Boren and later Jeremiah Boren ?? So where does the William McIntosh born 1770-1780 that married Baphalia  Smith in 1811 in Randolph Territory and who came with Benjamin McIntosh as early as 1807 fit in with the rest of these McIntosh's and WHO could his parents possibly be ?? Anyone have an idea ?? Any help would greatly be appreciated as this has been my brick wall for many years. Marianne Dillow Illinois   In the 1820 Alexander Co., IL cencus  #27 William Smith; #28 Nicholas Smith; #29 James Murphy and #30 is William McIntosh. IMPORTANT : In the 1830 Alexander Co., IL census James Murphy  and William McIntosh are living near each other. William McIntosh is listed as 50-60 years old.. no females.. This indicates William was born 1770-1780. Who was his partents ?? My Washington McIntosh 's farmland was near william while the others lived in next door counties.

Mom's Great Grandparents were David W. Epley and Caroline Hayes. I have been trying to find information on Caroline Hayes. I think her given name is Nancy Caroline Hayes but I am not sure. The tomstones I have found all just have Caroline on them. Would you have any more information on them and I will share what information on the Leslie Tanner family I have at this point. Edward McCay b. 1831 in GA, d. 1902 in GA Lavinia (Williams) McCay b. 1825 in GA, d. unknown Their children (Found in the 1850 & 1860 GA census): Rhoda Ann McCay (Not in 1880 census)Possibly married a Hays/Hayes Rosa McCay (Not in census)Possibly married a Lee Amanda McCay (Not in census) Ephraim McCay (Not in census) Grandchildren living with them in the 1880 census: Martha Lee b.1874 John Hays b. 1870 This is all the info I have on these children and grandchildren. Author: lostyankee261 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.logan/4574.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: There is a marriage for Esley MUIR and Elizabeth STANFIELD on 26 July 1864 and for George MUIR and Dicy COLLINS on 21 March 1837, both in Logan County. If William and Clyde did indeed marry in Logan County, they obtained their license from another county as there is no record for them. There are no other MUIR records for the county after these marriages. There is a Mary ALLEN who marries J. R. JOHNSON on 25 June 1911 also in Logan County. There are no children listed in the birth records for this mother, although that does not mean anything. There are burial records for the following people in the Belmont Cemetery, Allensville, Todd County, Kentucky: Mary Allen JOHNSON 1884 - 1945 John R. JOHNSON 1873 - 19- William M. ALLEN 1890 - 1927 W. H. ALLEN 27 February 1849 - 6 December 1914 Upon further inspection, the death record for Mary JOHNSON reveals the following information: . died in Elkton, Todd County, Kentucky (certificate number 02228) . born 4 March 1884, died 28 January 1945 . spouse: John R. JOHNSON . birth place is Kentucky . cause of death: Acute Dilation of the heart . burial: 30 January 1945 . informant appears to be Jan HIGHTOWER . father: George ALLEN . mother: Melissa GRAHAM (this is what it appears to be) o these are most likely the parents of John and NOT those of Mary. There is no other trace of any children in LOGAN County that I can find at this time. Hope this helps. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
