    1. [KYLOGAN] Lee Oldham and wife Susannah ? Doherty Oldham
    2. Merry Anne/Pierson
    3. Lee Oldham married the widow of James Doherty (also spelled Dougherty, etc) 3 Feb 1813 in Williamson County, TN. He appears to be in Logan Co KY near Russellville in 1817 when he and Susannah and the heirs of James Dougherty file a lawsuit in Davidson Co, TN to gain land that belonged to James Dougherty. They lost the suit. I'm trying to determine if Lee Oldham died in Logan Co between 1817 and 1822. Apparently Susannah returned to Montgomery Co, TN and died there before 1822 when her son, John Rice Dougherty is named guardian of his sister, Nancy R Dougherty. Can anyone do a lookup for me to see if Lee Oldham died there? Also if anyone has access to the marriage records, would you check to see if a Tapley Oldham married Nancy R Dougherty/Doherty there? The family of Doherty/Oldham go to Shelby County and live there for a number of years. Thanks, Merry Anne Pierson

    1. Re: [KYLOGAN] Price Genealogy
    2. Sammie Jean Fairchild
    3. I am interested in the price line. Ambrose Price married Mary Soyars. They moved to Wayne County Michigan in the 1920's I am also looking for old pictures made around Price's Mill in Logan County. I went there often with my Uncle John Henry Hughes. I can just see the Griss Wheel grinding and the water wheel turning on Red River. Aunt Hester, Uncle John and I use to fish there ofter. There was good Black Bass, Sun Perch and other good fishing in that area. They bought part of the Old Conn place on Red River off 765. They had 300 acres right there where Duke Burrors place was. I remember when the barn on the other side of the river burned in 1953 and we went over and helped raise another one. I remember when a dust crop plane crashed and the New Hope Church was filled and had to walk 1/2 mile to the church grounds for the funeral. I remember the Old Adairville with 2 picture shows, 2 banks, a drive in and bowling ally and Jackson Store on the south corner of square on 431. Joe Café was the best food in town and the Bus Stop. I remember the Sircy boys and the service station. Dime stores, the old hardware store and many other places there. I also remember the dances on the square and how much fun they were. From 1947 to 1959 I spent lots of time in the area. I still visit off and have a family reunion in Schochoh every year. My brother and some his family still live there and so does my Cousins. Some of the Sircy and Thomas family is still around that are related also. I finished high school in Franklin Ky 1962 class My older sister finished high school in Adairville KY. My roots on my mothers side of the family dug real deep in Logan County KY. Author: Judy_Lyne Surnames: Stewart, Harrison, Hogan Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.logan/4639/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Seeking more information on Mary Frances Stewart Harrison Hogan (1812-1858). She had sons Robert and Thomas J., the latter born in 1837. She is listed of Todd Co., KY when she married Martin Hogan as 2nd wife in 1841. First husband was Thomas Harrison. Thomas J. Harrison, her son, was a surgeon in the CSA, died in Charleston, SC. Mary F. Hogan's estate is settled in Logan Co., KY, Will Book I-J, page 67, by William Hogan, administrator. In Book H, p. 341, she files a renunciation of Martin's will and asks for her dower amount. She is listed in 1900 census under Augusta & Elias Riley as being born in AL. A sister of Mary Frances Stewart was Betsy who was captured by the Indians in 1789. Author: Judy_Lyne Surnames: Boyd, Campbell Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.logan/4638.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Write to Logan Co. Genealogical Society and Archives and ask for free scan of county and circuit court records. We do a free scan on one person and if you are interested in any of the records, you can then order. Write to logankyarchives@att.net Give your mailing address, the name of the ancestor and the approximate times he was here and any other hints to help us separate him from others of the surname. He is NOT kin to Robert Boyd (1817-1893) who married Rebecca Jane Campbell of the Olmstead community as he is my husband's great-grandfather and only had 2 sons, one married with only an adopted daughter and one died a bachelor. Robert came here from Nashville, TN, area and if they are kin, it goes another generation back but I've never known of any of his other kin that came here. There was another Boyd family in the same area as Boyd's Mill was on Whippoorwill Creek at Lickskillet, a community near Olmstead. Judy Lyne, President, Lo. Co. Gen. Soc. Genealogical Society and Archives. Send the name of Berryman Dalton and the approximate dates he may have been here to logankyarchives@att.net. Include your snail mail address as we generally send out the records by mail instead of retyping them after completing the search.
