I am wondering if there are any Freeman's or Watson's in Logan County that might be kn to the ones I have in my posting. I am currently working on my grandparents John Lewis and Mary Freeman. I know Mary Freeman was raised by Aaron Perry and Rebecca Ann Cushenberry in Allen Co., Ky. where she is listed as 7 years old in the 1860 Allen Co., Ky. census. I have found two records on Freeman and a Watson marriage record and a death record which could be our Mary Freeman's parents in Allen Co., Ky.. I have found this data on Allen Co., Ky on the internet. I don't know yet if this could be our Mary Freeman 's parents or not but am looking into it. Here is the marriage record in Allen Co., Ky.: John Freeman married Elizabeth Watson 23 July 1834 in Allen Co., Ky. I have found a death record for Elizabeth Watson that married John Freeman in Allen Co., Ky. Here is the info on her death record that has her listed as Elizabeth Freeman. : She was born ca 1813 in Frankin Co., Va. since it says she was 40 years old when she died in Allen Co., Ky. Her death date is 15 Dec 1853 the same year our Mary Freeman was born. I am wondering if this could be our Mary Freeman's mother and maybe she died giving birth to Mary in 1853. ?? It gives Elizabeth Watson Freeman 's parents as Elijah Watson and Sally maiden name unknown. A year later in 1835 in Allen Co., Ky we have a Dillard Freeman that married Sally Omehundro on 11 July 1835. I don't know yet of he could be a brother to Elizabeth Watson that married John Freeman or not. We also have a Nancy Freeman that married Owen D. Waters 23 Feb 1836 in Allen Co., Ky. I don't have any more information on John Freeman in that marriage record so far in Allen Co., Ky. I do have in the 1815 Allen co., Ky Tax List the following: i. Adsalom Freeman ii. Benjamin Freeman iii. John Watson iv. Samuel Watson 1815 was the year Allen Co., Ky was formed from Warren Co., Ky but John Lewis married Mary Freeman 10 Sep 1869 in Allen Co., Ky by Wm. K. Morgan. Any information on these families would greatly be appreciated. Marianne Dillow Illinois

I think his story is that he had a first wife, Cinthia, with whom he had two children, George and Sarah. Then when Cinthia got sick, a woman named Elizabeth Taylor came to live with them (1850 census in District 2, Warren co., KY). He then married Elizabeth Taylor in 1851 and had 6 children with her. I descend from Robert Gibbs, one of his children with Elizabeth Taylor. Our ancestor Phalious Anson married Catherine Fresh who married Michael Hoss after Anson's death. Looking at some family trees out there on Ancestry, I notice that many have confused Catherine's Father with her son. Check the dates of death. 1. He could not have been born in 1911 and died in 1826. Other dates and names are not consistent. I just wanted to make everyone aware of this as I know it is hard enough to get information without having conflicting reportsw out there. Keep trying. I will be willing to share what I have.
