Her daughter, Nancy Lancaster, married Beeson Fields of Tennessee and then moved to McDonald County Missouri. In the 1810 Census, Susan Lancaster is listed as well as a male whom I assume is her husband.
Louisa Ann Harrison was married to David Caldwell 13 Nov 1824 (born 27 Aug. 1785 Campbell County VA). There were Children: Elizabeth M 1831-1837, buried in what was called the Caldwell burial grounds at the edge of what was the Morton estates, and now called Perry Cemetery. She died in house fire in Clarksville TN. Randolph Harrison 1832-1890. He is buried with his wife and mother (Louisa) in his masuleum in Maple Grove Cemetery. Egean died 1835, David 1838 and two unnamed children all buried in the Caldwell burial area. These children died of cholera. David died 7 May 1835 aboard the streamboat "Uncle Sam" coming back from New Orleans after selling tabacco. He died of cholera. He was buried in Smithland KY, but reintered in the Caldwell burial ground several years later. Louisa then married his nephew Austin Caldwell ( born 18 Aug 1813 Hardin County KY) Austin died 28 Jan 1843 in Russellville. He too is in the Caldwell burial ground next to David. They had one child John William Caldwell 15 Jan 1836 born in Russellville and died 4 July 1903 and is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery. John William Caldwell was married to Hugh and Luan Hall Barclay's daughter. David was my great X3 grandfather's half brother.... I have a lot of information on Peyton/Elizabeth's son, Carter Henry Harrison's line, and a little on their daughter, Eleanor Susanna's. I will write you, using the address you gave me, and I'll also check out the link you included. No time to do this now but will be eager to do it shortly. For now I just wanted to give you a copy of the post from Christine on this RootsWeb forum, probably the Harrison surname board. It tells where the will can be obtained (which I haven't done yet). Here's what she replied to my query: "Author: Christine Czarnecki Date: 3 Jun 2005 10:14 PM GMT Surnames: Harrison, Barclay, Randolph, Caldwell Classification: Query In Reply to: Re: WESLEY H. HARRISON BIBLE RECORDS - UNION CO., IN by: Elinore Olsen "I wrote off to the county clerk of Christian Co., Hopkinsville, KY, to get the will. It is in Will Book M, Page 90 or 91. "Peyton Harrison wrote the will in Graves Co., KY, on 6 Nov. 1841, and updated it 9 Sept. 1842. the will and codicil were probated on 2 June 1845 in Christian Co. "He only lists two living children: daughter Louisa Ann Caldwell, wife of Austin Caldwell, and my ancestor, son Robert Peyton Harrison. Robert was also listed as executor. "Peyton and Elizabeth Barclay Harrison had 7 children who lived. I have death dates on most of them, and I do know that both Susanna and Robert lived for many "Peyton was survived by several grandchildren, but none of them is named in his will." Thanks again, & I'll be in touch. Elinore

Check out our website at http://www.logancountygenealogicalsociety.org/ I'm interested where the Peyton Randolph Harrison will is probated also as we have many interested in this line. If I remember correctly, we have quite a bit in the family folder on this line and I do know that Louisa has descendants who have visitied here, children down the line of the second son, John W. Caldwell, son of Austin. By her first husband, David Caldwell, she also had Randolph Harrison Caldwell and may have descendants from him also. Both of Peyton's sons went to Texas but when one died, the widow returned to Logan County and we should be able to trace some of the descendants of their children. Judy Lyne, president, LCGS

Maybe I'm not a good resercher, because I'm having such a hard time locating any of the children of Peyton Randolph Harrison and Elizabeth Mease Barclay. I think I did locate Robert Peyton Harrison in the 1850 Logan Co. KY census (b. VA, age 43, a physician), but that was the only child I found. I should've been able to locate Louisa Ann Harrison, who according to Peyton R.'s will, was married to [Austin] Caldwell, but I couldn't. I understand that Robert Peyton and Louisa were the only children mentioned in Peyton Randolph Harrison's will, so maybe the other children had died. But if Jabez was a child, he was not yet deceased. I was doubly glad to hear from you, because I'd been trying to find an e-mail address for the Logan Co. KY Genealogical Society. (It's so much easier to use e-mail.) I'd heard that the LCKGS has a lot of information on Peyton Randolph Harrison & family. Could you give me their e-mail address, or would you suggest that I write to you personally, either by e-mail or "snail mail"? Or will this query on the forum suffice? As I think I mentioned briefly before, I'm trying to find out whether Jabez Harrison, who was called a son in the 1822 Madison Co. VA will of George Harrison (and which son signed off on his inheritance later, all documented), is the same Jabez Harrison of Madison Co. VA who married Elizabeth Taylor in Orange Co. VA. The latter Jabez has been claimed by a couple of researchers of the family of Peyton Randolph Harrison who base their claim on Jabez's IN obit. I wonder if the parents in that obit were an error so am trying to study all Peyton Randolph Harrison's children, especially those who were alive at the time of his will. On Genealogy.com I looked in Genealogies of VA Families III, Fl-Ha, Harrison of James River, p. 771 (Baltimore - Genealogical Publishing Co. 1981) & found: "52. PEYTON 6 HARRISON (Carter Henry 5) married Miss Barclay and removed to Kentucky. He has descendants but efforts to obtain any detailed information in regard to them has been unsuccessful." Based on this, I think I'm not the only person who's had trouble finding information of Peyton Randolph Harrison's descendants. Some of us descendants of George Harrison have put a lot of time & research into this. Any advice, addresses, or information you can give us would be greatly appreciated. Elinore

Both seem to have married and moved to Texas, Carter's widow returned to Logan Co. with sons, Barclay and Carter H. Harrison. I find no record of having his will or estate settlement in the records at the Logan Co., KY, Archives. In the book, ABSTRACTS OF WILLS AND SETTLEMENTS, LOGAN COUNTY, KY, 1795-1838, Peyton Harrison is listed as an appraiser to the estate of Ephraim Hopkins. A Randolph Harrison is listed as son of Clementine Wilcox Harrison who has deceased and is listed as heir of Sarah Sands in equity box 70, case number 1797. No Jabez is listed in any index of wills and settlements from 1795 until 1900, nor is Carter or Barclay. C. H. appears in some of the ones in late 1800's. Most researchers do not show a person named Jabez on the list of children. There are a few other researchers who, while they do show a child named Jabez, they don't include a complete list of children, only Jabez. Do you have a copy of Peyton Randolph Harrison's will? This should shed some light. I'd appreciate any clues you could give me. Elinore
Franklin Kentucky has a newspaper called the "Franklin Favorite". The copies are hit and miss until the 1940's. Yes, they do have newspapers in the 1970. All 1879 Jefferson and Oldham county precinct maps are included on this CD, as are many city, town and village plan maps from this period. The Jefferson-Oldham county atlas also contains the following 1879 maps: United States, Kentucky, KY and TN System of Railroads, Jefferson County (Outline), Oldham County (Outline) and Louisville and Vicinity. The Jefferson county precincts included are: Anchorage, Blankenbaker, Boston, Cane Run, Cross Roads, Fairmont, Fisherville, Gilmans, Harrods Creek, Jeffersontown, Johnstown, Meadow Lawn, Middletown, O'Bannons, Seatonville, Shardine, Shiveleys, Springdale, Spring Garden, Two Mile House and Woods. Village and town maps of Jefferson county in this atlas: Anchorage, Fishville, Harrods Creek, Jeffersontown, Middletown, Newburgh and St.Matthews. The Oldham county precincts included are: Ballardsville, Brownsboro, Covington, Floydsburg, Goshen, La Grange, Rollington and Westport. Village and town maps of Oldham county in this atlas: Ballardsville, Beard's Station, Brownsboro, Floydsburg, La Grange, Peewee Valley and Westport. Details on early maps are often difficult to read and these are no exception; however, by virtue of the Adobe PDF formatting, these documents may be inspected at high levels of magnification without additional digital distortion; something that simply cannot be accomplished with paper reproductions and photocopies. Follow these links for examples of Precinct and Village maps. Each atlas includes many 19th century features such as: * toll roads, railroads and canals * post offices and government sites * schoolhouses, churches and cemeteries * rivers, streams and ferries * race tracks, fair grounds and picnic groves * industrial sites, furnaces and mills * early property ownership, homesteads and farms -and much, much more The abridged Atlas of Jefferson and Oldham Counties, Kentucky may be an invaluable aid to Genealogists, Historians and researchers in search of 19th century Jefferson and Oldham County places and place names. These early maps often contain many places that no longer exist or that have been obscured over time; the location of property owners, businesses, churches and cemeteries may assist genealogical researchers interested in Kentucky history.
