    3. Hello; I am looking for the family of my gg grandfather, Henry H. PRICE (1830-1913). I have searched high and low for this family for several years. I believe that his family may have lived in Lincoln Co. The first record I can find ANYWHERE of him is his marriage record in Pulaski Co., KY in 1858.....he married Margaret ALSIP. He reported at that time that he was a widower, this was his 2nd marriage. He was 28, she 16, daughter of James ALSIP of Whitley Co., Ky. I have his death certificate which was signed by a son, Henry Sherman Price. It says Henry's parents were James and Betty P_____. Betty's maiden name is there but almost unreadable. It looks like PUCKIT. Henry's first son was named James. My grandmother and a cousin, both now deceased, told me that Henry was coming from "out west" (the cousin insisted it was Missouri) by ox and covered wagon when his first wife became ill and died of pneumonia. The cousin said that Henry buried his wife just after crossing into Ky. near the Falls of the Ohio and went on toward Pulaski Co. This would have probably been in the early 1850s. (This could have been a RETURN trip?) There is an old statement on file in Pulaski Co. by a minister who states that he solemnized rites of matrimony on 13th (18th?) day of Dec., 1850 between Henry Price and Sarah BROWN. I do not know if this is my Henry, but have never found this couple on Pulaski records. One would think that if Henry married her so near the end of the year 1850, he would be on the 1850 census there. He is not. I need to find a marriage bond and think it could be in Lincoln Co. I have collected mountains of material on the Pulaski Co. PRICES. Most were from VA. But I have not been able to tie mine in to any of them. After Henry's marriage to Margaret, he purchased land in Pulaski Co. and later in Whitley Co. near the area of Cumberland Falls. He lived there till he died in 1913 and he is buried there in a family cemetery on his property. Any clues at all will be gratefully accepted and if you have an interest in the Pulaski Co. Prices, some of whom moved on to Mo., I am happy to share what I have with you.
